Description:
This headdress, a forage cap, was worn with the Patrol Dress unifrom or "Blues". This particular example is dated 1938, was manufactured by Hawkes and Co Ltd. and features an embroidered band with a wreath of oak leaves and brass buttons. This example also features a hinged metal "stiffener" in the peak so that the tension could be released when the cap wasn't in use.
