History
742 Communication Squadron was created on 1 November 1966 when 732
Comm Sqn became a part of 74 Communication Group West and was
redesignated.
Unit Crest and Motto
The squadron crest, approved in 1981, is the Bulldog which symbolizes
the faithful service that the squadron gives to its users and the
perseverance shown by the Squadron personnel in the completion of
their mission. This theme is supportd by the Squadron's motto -
Perseveramus, whish is latin for We Persevere. The Aurora Boreales
represents the Squadron's extensive involvement in the Canadian
Arctic and the colour of teh crest is common to all Canadian Forces
Communication Units.
