Trade dr aussie museum

This is a DR patch located in in a West Australian museum. Its origin does not appear to be either Australian or New Zealand and is thought to be Canadian. I haven't seen this before and would appreciate any information anyone has. Email to webmaster@rcsigs.ca please.

Update: This badge has been reported by many site visitors as Canadian. So far I have been unable to locate an authority for it's wear and any help would be appreciated.

Update 2: A picture of this badge being worn by a Canadian of the 220th Battlion, CEF has been found.

Update 3: I have acquired an excellent specimen of this style of badge but so far have not found any additional information about it.

Update 4: There are a few soldiers in this photo wearing the badge too so it seems it was in wide use.
