Service history

The M37CDN 3/4 Ton Line Vehicle was a mid-range vehicle in use by the Canadian Army between 1957 and the mid-1970s.

When the WW2 era CMPs were replaced, the M37CDN became the standard mid-range (3/4 ton) cargo truck used by the Canadian Army. Being a generic cargo varient, the M37CDN had many Special Equipment Vehicle (SEV) kits designed to meet particular needs, a cable laying adapter kit being one. The design prototype was completed in 1957 and consisted of removing the tool lockers, stowage racks and a line reel unit. The vehicle was in use until replaced by the 5/4 ton Chevrolet truck in the mid 1970s.
