No. 23 Composite Brigade Group Signals was authorized effective 1 March 1946 [1], embodied as a unit of the Post-War Permanent Force (Active Force) effective 27 June 1946[2] and placed on Active Service effective 1 October 1946.[3]

Concurrent with being placed on Active Service, the unit was redesignated 23rd Brigade Group Signal Troop effective 1 October 1946.[4]

The unit was redesignated The Active Force Brigade Group Signal Troop, RC Sigs effective 20 June 1949.[5]
