3 Signal Squadron Mess Dinner 19 Jun 1973 - Program cover.jpg
On 19 June 1973 3 Signal Squadron held a Mess Dinner to celebrate the Commemoration and Naming of Knowlton Hill which occurred on 20 June.

The dinner was held in the Brownfield Officers’ Mess at CFB Gagetown and was attended by Officers of the unit, wives and special guest Col Knowlton. Also in attendance was LCol SB (Bert) Lerner, CO of 703 (Ottawa) Communication Regiment. Music was supplied by Pipers from The Second Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment.

At the dinner Col Knowlton was presented with an engraved silver tray from All Ranks 3 Signal Squadron by Major John Dicker, CO 3 Signal Squadron. He was also presented with a framed aerial photograph of "his" (soon to be) Hill, from All Ranks 703 (Ottawa) Communication Regiment by LCol SB (Bert) Lerner. The aerial photo presentation was personally designed by a former Signal Officer in Ottawa, BGen (Ret’d) Ed Baldock.
