A First World War piece of trench art made from an Austrian shell casing (has the double headed eagle MM). The piece is 8" high and 6" across the base and features an Officers Canadian Signal Corps collar badge and engraved dates 1915-18 as well as the names of the major battles - Ypres, Somme, Vimy, Hill 70, Passchendaele, Arras and Mons.

Based on the dates, battles and the use of the CSC badge, this is most likely done by someone from 1st Canadian Divisional Signal Company.
